I don't know what has gotten into me, but BAM! another outfitpost!

A few days ago I was looking through my old outfitposts and I felt like I needed to change something. This blog hasn't been the same as it used to be and that made me sad. So all of the sudden I have some renewed inspiration and that definitely shows in my choice of clothing. The last few months I've been wearing boring outfits most of the time and it's time to change that. More patterns, unusual combinations and fun :)

I know there has been a serious lack of outfit posts, but don't worry: I'm still wearing clothes.

Today, for example, I've been wearing this strange combination of floral tights and a checked shirt. For some reason though, I really like this mashup of patterns and colours. It seems weird to put together but it actually looks pretty nice as a combo!

It's still hard to take proper outfit shots in my room but I'm doing my best!

I have been gone way too long, again. But I've been to many cool places! On december 20th I went to Coldplay in Frankfurt with my roomies, boyfriend and dad and it was amazing!

The last couple of days I was staying in Antwerp with my boyfriend and that was really nice too. Antwerp is a beautiful city :)

I love black and white architecture photography, so I took some photographs in Antwerp. Really happy with how these turned out!

This is a rainbow cake I made for Sinterklaas. Isn't it awesome!? It's a lot of work to make (you have to bake every layer separately etc. It took me 4 hours!) but it's totally worth it.

Size 36, worn a lot but it's in good state, romantic style. It's a lovely dress but unfortunately I don't fit it anymore.

A few weeks ago I ordered these lovely boots in cooperation with Zalando. I had never ordered at Zalando before, but damn, they are fast! Within a few days I received the package. I like the fact they have so many items (perhaps too many? :') It's difficult to choose!). Besides Levi's, they sell several brands like Pieces, United Nude, Vans, etc. Very nice! Be sure you check out all the lovely heels, bags and clothes!

Ok, I don't what has gotten into me but wow.. Why am I not blogging anymore? Even my boyfriend started complaining about my absence as blogger. When that happens you know you have to start blogging again. Immediately.

So here I am! I'm doing fine, but I'm just not settled here enough to take outfit shots outside and make videos and take pictures. I don't know... I guess I'm not really inspired here. But I miss the blogging, the photographing, the fashion and I miss you!

School is going well, but sometimes it's tough to combine your schoolwork with cooking, cleaning, sports and your social life. First I had a mum to do all the cleaning and cooking :')

Enough with the talking about my boring school life.. let's talk fashion! I've fallen in love with several items (again) and it's so hard to choose!

Pfoeh, last week was pretty hectic! I've been busy with school and rowing (my newest hobby) and my boyfriend left the country for an internship in Turkey. I also painted my entire room (it's almost done, it's almost done :D)

I love autumn and winter. It means I can wear sweaters again! Yesterday I bought this lovely item at Zara after college (I love studying in Utrecht!). It's the perfect blue and it's really warm.

Living in Utrecht is really nice. (for the ones who did not know: I found a room!) My roommates are cool, my study is nice and I'm really busy (but in a good way). When my room is finished I'll show you some pictures!

Van waar haal je jou zelfvertrouwen om te dragen wat je wil? Kijken mensen jou nooit vreemd aan omdat je je eigen stijl hebt? Of doet dit jou niets?

Mensen kijken me wel eens vreemd aan, maar eigenlijk doet dat me weinig. Als mensen me nastaren heb ik vaak zoiets van: 'ha, ik zie er blijkbaar interessant genoeg uit om naar te kijken. Nice!' Ik vind die aandacht eigenlijk wel leuk :)

En tja, dat zelfvertrouwen komt denk ik vooral omdat ik mijn stijl en kleding zelf heel erg leuk vind. Het is gewoon echt 'mij'. Doordat ik dat weet, voel ik me er goed bij en dat zorgt weer voor dat zelfvertrouwen!

Wat ga je volgend jaar studeren?

Ik ga Taal- en Cultuurstudies studeren in Utrecht. Dit is een erg brede studie, maar ik wil me voornamelijk gaan richten op media/journalistiek/digitale cultuur. Denk ik. Anything is possible!

Waar in Nederland woon je?

Ik woon in Hengelo, in Twente. Maar volgend jaar hopelijk in Utrecht!

Wat zijn je favoriete blogs?

Ik kijk dagelijks op AfterDRK, This chick's got style en Cheapthrillsss :) Verder volg ik ook nog vrij veel beautyblogs, zoals Misslipgloss, Beautygloss en Beautylab.

Tegen welke blog mensen kijk je op?

Ik kijk op tegen elke blogger die van haar hobby haar baan heeft gemaakt. Dat lijkt me echt geweldig om te kunnen doen!

Vind je jezelf hipster of haat je hipsters?

Haha, nee ik vind mezelf geen hipster. Maar that's the point, right? Heb je ooit een hipster horen zeggen dat hij zichzelf hipster vindt? :P

Ooit er over na gedacht je haar een andere kleur te verven? En dan ook kleuren zoals roze?

Nou ja ik heb het natuurlijk al stukken lichter dan ik eigenlijk ben haha. Maar andere, felle, kleuren zou ik niet zo snel doen. Misschien als ik langer haar heb de puntjes in een verschillende (pastel)kleurtjes, dat vind ik dan wel weer tof!

Hoe zie jij jezelf over 5 jaar? En over 10?

Over 5 jaar ben ik 23 en ik hoop dan mijn studie afgerond te hebben. Ook zou ik dan graag de wereld gaan verkennen. Het lijkt me wel wat om een wereldreis te maken en onvergetelijke dingen mee te maken :) Ik hoop dan ook dat mijn blog professioneler en volwassener is geworden. En dan ik tientallen nieuwe vrienden heb gemaakt in Utrecht en in de rest van Nederland (of de wereld? :)) Over 10 jaar ben ik alweer 28 en dan hoop ik een geweldige baan te hebben waarbij ik kan doen wat ik leuk vind, en dat ik altijd mensen om me heen heb waarvan ik hou. Verder staat nog niets vast, ik zie wel wat er gebeurt!

Wat is jouw grootste angst?

Naast wat onschuldige angsten zoals mijn angst voor openbare wc's (die kleine, donkere ruimtes aaah!) en enge kriebelbeesten ben ik erg bang dat er iemand uit mijn familie of van mijn vrienden overlijdt. Ook ben ik bang om vergeten te worden, dat lijkt me vreselijk. Vandaar deze blog misschien?

Jouw top 3 beauty producten waar je gewoon NIET zonder kan?

Mascara (mijn wimpers zijn onzichtbaar zonder mascara), conditioner (anders is mijn haar een droog bosje stro) en lippenbalsem (verslaafd!). En stiekem ook nog nagellak.

Wat zijn je favoriete films? En heb je ook favo chickflicks?

Ik kijk vrij veel films omdat we Film 1 hebben, maar toch heb ik niet veel favorieten.

Ps. I love you is in ieder geval één van mijn favo films die ook direct in de categorie chickflick past haha. Maar hij is veel dieper en heeft meer drama dan een 'normale' chickflick. Echt een film waar ik bij huil én lach! Verder vind ik alle films van Harry Potter geweldig en kijk ik ook graag naar een film die een beetje arty is.

Waarom heb je besloten om te gaan bloggen?

Ik las al wat andere modeblogs en het leek me leuk om mijn outfits en mijn smaak aan de wereld te showen.

Hoeveel bezoekers heb je per maand?

Ik heb elke maand tussen de 4000 en 5000 bezoekers. Ik ben stiekem nog steeds een beetje verbaasd over dat aantal, ook al weet ik dat het helemaal niet zo HEEL veel is als je het met andere modeblogs vergelijkt. Maar toch, zoveel mensen per maand die mijn foto's willen zien en mijn teksten willen lezen..!

Wie zijn jouw voorbeelden?

Mijn grootste voorbeeld is mijn vader. (ja dat lees je goed pap!). Hij heeft superveel koele dingen gedaan in zijn leven en veel meegemaakt. Zo is hij vroeger DJ geweest en heeft hij de hele wereld rondgevaren. Daarnaast werkt hij heel hard om zijn (een tikje) verwende dochters te onderhouden haha. Hij kan met iedereen gezellig praten, van belangrijke business-mensen tot de cassiere bij de Albert Heijn en hij wil me altijd overal naartoe brengen en overal ophalen, waar ik ook ben. Al mijn vrienden vinden mijn vader heel koel, en daar ben ik het roerend mee eens.

Wat vind je familie van je blog? Lezen zij hem zelf ook?

Ja, mijn hele familie weet van mijn blog :) Mijn vrienden trouwens ook. Ik heb mijn blog het eerste jaar angstvallig geheim gehouden omdat ik niet wilde dat bekenden hem zouden lezen. Ik was bang voor hun reactie. Op een gegeven moment besloot ik het gewoon aan wat mensen te vertellen, en nu vertel ik het aan iedereen! Ik schaam me niet langer voor la mode-rétro, ik ben er supertrots op :D Ik heb vorig jaar zelfs een Nederlands presentatie over bloggen gedaan en heb daar voor mijn hele klas vertelt over mijn blog.

Mijn vader is een trouwe volger van mijn blog en leest hem elke dag en ik kom vaak vage bekenden tegen (vrienden van vrienden bijvoorbeeld) die dan tegen me zeggen dat ze weleens op m'n blog kijken. Zo leuk vind ik dat! Ook zie ik weleens een bekende opeens tussen de followers staan haha :)

It's not rocket science is another beautiful Orly polish, part of the Cosmic FX collection.

I don't know how Orly does it, but all their polishes are SO pretty! This is a gorgeous foily/flakie green/yellow (it's slightly duochrome). It needs 4 layers, which is more than the other Cosmix FX-polishes, but - as always - the formula is great and easy to work with.

BAM! A picture of a big ass smile :D I'm back from my introductionweek in Utrecht and Lowlands and it was freakin' awesome. I've met a lot of cool people and I had tons of fun. Guess I have never met more people in one week than I did last week.. I even met one of my readers! I've been recognized two times in my life and it's such a weird but great experience. I love it. So a shout out to Robert (yes that's correct, a male (!) reader recognized me. During a skrillex show. With thousands of people. Such a coincidence!) I hope I didn't disappoint in real life :')

Orly - meet me under the mistletoe

Last week I received my Trans Design order and in the following weeks I will show you every nailpolish I got :)

This nailpolish is absolutely GORGEOUS. Orly makes these wonderful shimmery/foily nailpolishes and they're my absolute favourite. Applying is very easy, but you'll need three coats. With Orly three coats isn't a punishment though, because it applies super smoothly!

I've used my NYX glitters before, but this time I wanted to do something else than a full-coverage glitter nail. So I decided to dip only the tips of my nails in glitter!

To make it even more interesting, I went for this unique combination of Orly Space Cadet (one of my favourites!) and NYX glitter mania in 'Purple'. Enjoy!

Today was amazing! First I went to Apeldoorn with a friend to apply for a job at Lowlands.. and we got in! So excited!

Then I continued my journey to Amsterdam, to visit my friend Ka chun (who is staying there for a few weeks) First we went shopping for a bit, then we had this delicious meal at Wagamama and after that we met Laci Green (if you don't watch her videos, YOU SHOULD!) She is an absolute sweetheart and it was so much fun to meet her :)

When I was finally back in my hometown, I ran into some friends at our favourite pub so we drank some beers there. And to finish off, I went dancing in a club with my dance buddy Maaike and that was pretty awesome as well.

OK, you probably don't remember me.

Hi, I'm the owner of this blog, which I have terribly abandoned for the last 10 days. I don't know what's wrong, but I just didn't feel like blogging at all. I didn't know what to post.. my outfits were boring and I barely took any pictures. And that's quite exceptional for me, as I ALWAYS take pictures. I think it has something do to with the weather and all the things going on in my life right now. It's summer and it feels like autumn and that sucks. It just makes me.. depressed. One month ago I was busy partying and having fun in sunny Turkey, and here I am: laying in bed in the rainy Netherlands. I just wanna have a fun summer, not this raincrap all the time.

I'm also looking for a room in Utrecht and that doesn't make things much easier. Walking alone in a strange city is definitely something new for me. And I'm not sure I like it that much. On the other hand though, I think a new beginning is good for me. Moving out my parents house might be an awesome adventure. I really want this new 'being a student'-life, but I'm so scared to leave my current life behind at the same time. Ah well, I guess it's all part of growing up.

So yeah, I guess I just wanted to tell you what's been on my mind the past couple of weeks. Don't worry, I'm a happy, carefree person most of the time, but sometimes I just can't stop worrying and I need to write it down somewhere. In this case, my blog.

For this look I applied one coat of blanc nailpolish and then dipped my nails into NYX Glitter Mania in 'Disco ball'. To finish it off, I applied one coat of China Glaze 'Nova', a beautiful silver glitter polish. And voilà!

I shot the pictures for this a long time ago, but half an hour ago I just felt like doing something with them. So I put them all together and now they are this quite interesting photograph/collage thing. Posh Spice - Fancy Fuchsia - Cocktail Passion - Ruby me - Peppermint - Aqua blue - Clearly clear

My mom and I have seven Rimmel nailpolishes together, so I thought it would be nice to do a blogpost with swatches and a review!

First off; I absolutely love the colours Rimmel make. They're simpel, most of them are just creamy without any shimmer of glitters. Just how I like it!
These Lycra Pro polishes have a maxi brush, which makes applying super easy. The formula is not too thick and not too thin, just perfect.
These beauties cost €6,99 which is not extremely cheap but not really expensive either. I got many of these polishes during sale (when they were €4,99 or even €2,50) so I'm really happy with these haha.
The topcoat (Clearly clear) is also really nice and smooth.

Although the nailpolishes promise to remain on your nails for 10 days.. they don't. For me this isn't really a problem though, because I like to wear another colour every day ^^

So, I really recommend these Rimmel Lycra Pro nailpolishes! They're gorgeous; just take a look at the swatches beneath!
Two coats is perfectly fine (except for Peppermint, that one really needs 3 coats, as you can see)

So crazy right now.

This gorgeous colour has been in my stash for a few weeks now so I decided to give it a try. And wow, I love it! This fantastic coral/pink colour is my new favourite for summer. Can you imagine how good it will look on tanned skin?
And yeah, I've been wearing a lot of Rimmel nailpolishes lately haha. I can't help it, their colours are just too pretty! Everytime I walk by the Rimmel counter @ a drugstore I just want to buy more and more.
